This Week’s Letter From Dave

Hello, friend! It’s ME, again! Your ol’ buddy, your ol’ pal… Dave!

So, I’m a day late… That’s okay, right? At least we’re getting some time this week to chat, even if it’s not our normal Monday “chat-date”!

See, that’s the thing about life.

Sometimes, we just can’t do anything about what comes our way. We just have to make the most of the “cards” we’re “dealt” as they say and accept them with as much grace as possible.

And that’s what my letter is about today!

As complicated as you folks (ie humans) have made life… It’s not always going to go the way you expect it to.

Things are going to “hit” you “from left field” and when you least expect it.

That is the nature of the Universe. It’s always changing, expanding, and it can be pretty chaotic at times.

So, what do ya do?

Trying to control it is just a waste of time, energy, and your peace!

Should you instead pretend that everything’s “hunky-dory” when, really, it isn’t?

Am I suggesting you take a trip along “de-nile”? Nah. That doesn’t do you a bit of good either.

Sure! There are those who will convince you that being positive all the time is the way to go, and being positive does have its benefits. BUT you’re also denying what’s going on for you.

I guess there’s some fancy term you folk have made up for that… Dawna tells me that it’s called “spiritual bypassing”.

Whatever floats your collective boat!

I say honor how you’re feeling. Honor YOU and your feelings.

I know you and Dawna talked about this recently… and how important JOY is to your health and wellness. BUT what do you do when you’re just “not feeling it”?

What if you’re downright pissed off with someone or about something?

What if you’re sick (like my friend, Dawna) was this past weekend, and just not feeling 100%?

What if, out of the blue, your best friend (and therefore, you) find out that they’re going to move to another part of the country?

All of these things can stir up a lot of emotions, right? And as we see on the vibrational scale, grief, anger, fear are pretty far down there.

So, how do you get yourself back to peace? Or JOY?

I get it! It’s not always easy. But, like trying to eat an elephant (though I don’t know why anyone would want to do that!), you do it one bite at a time!

In this case, you move yourself up the scale as best you can, one step at a time.

For instance, back to the example of your best friend moving… You might feel some GRIEF. Your mind might convince you that you’re “losing” a good friend, right? This might also cause you to feel lonely pre-occurrence.

Let’s work to move up the scale!

Next would be FEAR…

“What if her moving means we can no longer be friends??”

Next… ANGER.

“Well, fine! I’ll be just fine on my own.”

You might even jump a couple of rungs higher to COURAGE.

“It’ll be okay. I’ve gone it alone before, and I turned out just fine.”

A couple more jumps to… ACCEPTANCE!

“It’s not like she wanted this to happen. This is what’s best for her and her family.”

Up to REASON…

“It actually looks like it will be a good move for them. A lot more doors will be open to them there.”

And up to LOVE…

“I wish her nothing but the best, and I truly hope she finds it there. And nothing says that we have to stop being friends, just because she’s moving. We’re so close as friends, that distance cannot keep us down!”

Every step you take closer to JOY is a TRIUMPH!

Will this happen quickly?

Not necessarily.

It will happen as quickly as YOU allow it to.

(And don’t forget! You are never alone in your trials. You can always call on the Angels, the faeries, your Spiritual Support Team.)

Any time Dawna is down, blue, or low on that vibrational scale, I’m right there, trying to make her laugh!

So, my friend, is there something going on in your life? Something that happened recently that you’re having problems getting beyond? Can you take one step closer toward JOY today?

My suggestions?

Take your Inner Child on a Playdate! Do something that you loved to do as a kid that you haven’t done in a while!

Watch a funny movie!

Laughter is always the quickest way to raise your vibration.
